In 2001, when my eldest child Jaden was four, my mother bought him a toy bunny for Easter. Jaden immediately fell in love with the bunny and carried her everywhere. He called her Hoppity because she liked to jump around (actually being thrown in the air by Jaden). One day while watching them play, I was inspired to write a story about the Adventures of Jaden and Hoppity, which I then read to him each night.

In 2007 I became a Radio Lollipop volunteer and experienced first hand the wonderful job all volunteers do.The Adventures of Jaden and Hoppity book was written to make my child happy and I wanted to share it with all children.

Each page has been coloured in by the children of PMH, and every page has a special story behind it for each child. The best part in creating this book, and which to me is priceless, is the joy it has brought to the children who did the colouring in of the pictures in it.

Radio Lollipop is an international charity that provides comfort, music and entertainment to children in hospital through volunteers and radio stations that broadcast within hospitals and to other children’s wards in their region.

Radio Lollipop’s goal is to provide care, comfort, play and entertainment for children in hospital and their families. Volunteers carry out this mission by visiting the wards, playing with children and operating the radio station. The volunteers chat, make craft, play, dance and sing, have colouring-in competitions, or simply sit and hold a hand
if needed.

Radio Lollipop is a unique and exciting play and entertainment service that exists because of the dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers who are committed to delivering a one-one service and making a positive
difference in the lives of sick children.
